Free downloads from Noisetrade

Have a few free downloads direct from the artist to you.

Lauren Mann and the Fairly Odd Folk is an indie/folk/pop band based out of Calgary, Alberta.  They are set to release their sophomore CD Over Land and Sea which was produced by Aaron Marsh (Copeland, The Myriad, Poema, Lydia, Anchor&Braille).  Think of Brooke Fraser, Eisley, Feist, and Florence and the Machine all rolled up in one.  A great sound from an eclectic mix of instruments and beautiful vocals by Lauren.  Pick up three free songs from the upcoming album here.

Lauren Mann and the Fairly Odd Folk have developed an extensive tour schedule for 2012.  they will be covering both Canada and the US.  This band should not be missed.  Get the tour details here.

The Canadian rock/worship band Starfield is well known for songs such as "Beauty in the Broken", "I Will Go", and "The Saving One".  They have posted two tracks from their new EP, The Kingdom at Noisetrade.  The standout track is “Innocence and Other Things Lost”.  Find free Starfield tracks here.

I have to admit that ska has never died on my iPod.  I was overjoyed to find that Five Iron Frenzy had reformed. Anyone who hasn’t picked up their new song,”It Was a Dark and Stormy Night” from this epic ska band can still grab it at noisetrade.  ”It Was a Dark and Stormy Night” download.

New video by The Skies Revolt

There is a new music video out by The Skies Revolt for their new song "It's All In The Reflexes".  I just found out about this band while reading an online addition of HM magazine.  Think of Danielson Famile with a rock edge.  The video is available exclusively through the HM magazine site.

The Antidote - Show 16, Jan 18/12 with Josiah

My eldest son, Josiah, was home this week. He laid out the playlist and did the announcing on this weeks show.  I had an easy night at Trent Radio, all I had to do was slide a few controls and queue up the tracks.  It was great having Josiah on air with me.  The dominant style for the show was Indie bands of the '90s.  Check it out here.
Listen to The Antidote live on Trent Radio 92.7 FM, Wednesdays from 9 - 10 EST. You can also access a live stream here.

I changed the plans for this weeks show.  Next week, Metal Mayhem will happen.  I promise!  We will be looking at the top Christian metal albums of all time as listed by HM Magazine.

Hello Kelly Needs Your Help!

Hello Kelly has only 5 days left on a kickstarter campaign to raise funds for recording their new CD. They're 20% of the way to their goal of $15,000.  HK has given to Southern Ontario over the past years, now it's our turn to help them.

Check out the amazing perks from the band when you contribute to their campaign.

The Antidote - Show 15, Jan 11/12 new show recording

The Christmas holidays are over and The Antidote returned to the Trent Radio studio.  My first show back was Jan 11th (yes, I've been a slacker about posting this show).   Over Christmas  my son, Abram, helped me lay out a show that featured some of his favourite Christian tracks.  You'll have to excuse some of the glitches in this recording.   I had some problems in the studio that night when the computer program driving the show froze.

Listen to The Antidote live on Trent Radio 92.7 FM, Wednesdays from 9 - 10 EST. You can also access a live stream here.

Check out the recording of show 15 of The Antidote here.

Next week?  Metal Mayhem.  We look at the top Christian metal albums of all time as listed by HM Magazine.

I know I only cover Christian artists in this blog, but this is priceless!
