Maylene and the Sons Of Disaster

Dallas Taylor, lead singer for MATSOD
Southern metalcore band, Maylene and the Sons of Disaster played last night to a capacity crowd at the Sound Academy in Toronto.  The concert had a late start.   An unfortunate result was that each of the bands reduced their set list, leaving fans yearning for more.

Without wasting time MASTOD opened with "Waiting On My Deathbed" from their third album, III (yes, you guessed correctly, the first and second albums are entitled, I and II). The bulk of their 35 minute set was from III.  I was hoping to hear songs from their critically acclaimed second album and one of my favourites "Tough As John Jacobs" from I, but that was not to be.

The mosh pit moved into overdrive during "Settling Scores By Burning Bridges", pushing the non-moshing fans to the back of the venue.  Being 5'6" my view of the stage was limited.  None the less it was a great show.  Lead singer, Dallas Taylor, formerly of Underoath, never fails to give their fans their money's worth.
