Dave and Abram Hawkins returned to Trent Radio after a break for the holidays. Abram had been itching to have an all vinyl show. He and I dug through my collection of '80's vinyl to pull out an assortment of Christian rock tracks. This episode of The Antidote was full of glitches as we battled with the antiquated twin turntables at the station to make this show work. While it was a lot of fun, it was also full of headaches! Show 57 - The Antidote - The End is the Beginning

The Antidote joined Trent Radio on December 12, 2012 to celebration the upcoming apocalypse. This special broadcast was entitled, The End is the Beginning.

Being a Christian, my viewpoint was significantly different than many of the other programs offered that day.  Listen in as my co-host Abram and I share some thoughts on the end times. We also offered up a number of songs dealing with the end of the world from a number of Christian artists.

The  December 12th broadcast of The Antidote will take on a whole new flair. My normally silent co-host, Abram, will joining me in conversation as we discuss  the approaching apocalypse. Trent Radio is celebrating the end of the world (according to interpretations of the ancient Mayan calendar) and The Antidote will be joining in. Check out the show as we present both Christian and secular perspectives on the final days.

Showbread headman and lead vocalist, Josh Dies joined The Antidote for an insightful  interview. We also aired a number of tracks of their outstanding music. We ran through some of Showbread's discography which illustrates their tremendous lyrical and musical style as Josh describes the development of their albums and some interesting facets of this unique band.

The Antidote - Show 45 - Project 86

At the Soulfest music festival I was delighted to spend some time with Andrew Schwab of Project 86. He spoke with The Antidote about the new album, Wait For The Siren, and the new band members that make up P86. You can hear the interview with Andrew on this broadcast of The Antidote.

I've been a long time fan of Project 86. The band had it's start as a rap/rock band back in 1996, progressing into their dedicated hard rock sound by the time they recorded their third album, Truthless Heroes on Atlantic Records. Wait For The Siren is the latest release for P86 and it holds some surprises for their fans. A new Celtic influence pervades the album as Schwab explores his ancestral roots.

This recording of The Antidote covers much of the discography of Project 86 and features a number of songs from Wait For The Siren and many older favorites.

The Antidote - Show 41 - Squad Five-O / Cornerstone Eulogy

The final Cornerstone festival was quite and experience and I'm glad that I had a chance to experience it. This episode of The Antidote pays tribute to the Cornerstone festival and airs songs by a number of the artist who performed there.

A big treat with attending Cornerstone was the chance to speak with John and Jeff of Squad Five-O.  This great ska/punk/rock band came back to perform at Cornerstone. Listen in to the show and the interview with Squad Five-O.

The Antidote - Show 39 - Cornerstone

I was off into the burning heat of Southern Illinois last week, but I couldn't let down the regular listeners to The Antidote.  I'd prepared a prerecorded show that was aired as I was off listening to a huge number of somewhat underground Christian bands.  When I mentioned about the heat, it was no joke. 40 degrees Celsius (100 Fahrenheit)  with a humidex reaching the low 50"s (120 Fahrenheit) each and every day. Even some highway pavement buckled. It was worth the trials I encountered!

This prerecorded show includes many of the artists I saw at Cornerstone. Hopefully this will make it up to those music fans who were unable to attend what was to be the very last Cornerstone festival.
